Andrew Jacobs is a fully qualified and registered Osteopath and member of Osteopathy Australia. He graduated from Victoria University after completing a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Masters of Osteopathy.
Andrew has gained a vast array of experience in sports medicine over several years,
consulting in a variety of settings in Melbourne. He has developed an interest in low back, pelvic and lower limb biomechanics and their relation to the prevention and rehabilitation of acute and chronic injuries. Andrew completed his masters’ research on ‘Intra-pelvic bone motion during the stance phase of the hip flexion test in subjects with posterior pelvic pain’
Andrew is continually building networks with leading researchers and clinicians, which keeps him updated with the latest trends and techniques in sports medicine. A strong foundation in structural diagnosis and management forms the basis of Andrews’ treatment. His treatments have an emphasis on patient education, exercise rehabilitation, self management strategies, and hands on manual therapy.
Andrew has extensive experience in football, playing 3 years at Eastern Ranges Football Club in the TAC Cup (Australia’s Elite Under 18 Competition) and is currently club Osteopath at Boronia Football Club. Andrew is also a fully qualified personal trainer completing a certificate III and IV in fitness which has given him great insight into the health and fitness industries enabling him to work with other professionals within the industry.
Living in the local area and having strong family roots, Andrew is committed to the health and wellbeing of the local community.
